All the efforts and funding committed to research and development by environmental agencies, private organisations and institutions are vital to better understand and determine the effects on and solutions for our environment. It is, however, equally important that these efforts are properly portrayed and displayed for public consumption.
With an expert team of professionals in media and all respective environmental categories, GEMA will aggregate all available information from credible sources, put in order the ever-growing mass of data and information, and then create and derive strategies, using the media, to diffuse the information where it will be most impactful.
It is our belief and philosophy that education – using 'edutainment' via all media formats and having a global presence with qualified and quantified information – is the most impactful way to make healthy change.
*BASED ON THE UNITED NATIONS' 17 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS, GEMA'S NINE THEMATICS COVER ALL THE CATEGORIES THAT REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.
We will consider both feature and documentary films that expressly identify environmental issues and have high expectancy for mass exposure. Based on a proprietary green-light process, and only upon a checklist being completed, would funds be committed towards their realisation. This in turn allows for a library of content to be created, with profits to be reused by the Association.
GEMA will support existing programming and also the creation of original content to be circulated globally to various environmental-based channels along with all other media outlets, including social media. The programming will include content for children along with long- and short-format series. All programming is to be licensed and syndicated.
Today’s younger generations primarily communicate through visual social platforms. It is our goal to penetrate these platforms using media content - aggregated, created and diffused accordingly.
Through our affiliations and partnerships we identify events in which to participate and utilise our content, so giving further exposure to GEMA and the subjects we cover. In turn, using these platforms is also beneficial for more fundraising.
Among GEMA’s main focuses is to utilise and be of assistance to global news outlets by providing our content in short format for distribution.
GEMA can diffuse to radio stations all the content we create on audio format and use this medium to promote and, in turn, provide illuminating global environmental information.
In today's digital world, key messages should reach all screens - TVs, computers, tablets, phones and game consoles. Through GEMA’s partners in the digital industries, we will promote the distribution of content to all existing platforms.
It is paramount that the younger generation is well versed and up to speed with our ever-changing environment. It is this generation that will be charged with being the gatekeepers to a sustainable planet in the years to come. Education is the key to safeguarding a healthy environment and to producing the next wave of environmentalists, to ensure the planet's integrity. GEMA aims to bring formats that are suitable for today's educational needs and expectations to achieve best results. This will be accomplished by diverse programming and an education platform that schools with pupils of all ages can adopt as a learning tool and a trustworthy information point.
GEMA aims to create a movement by generating a membership of environmentally conscious people, from all walks of life, who wish to join the cause and contribute to our mission.
